Tobacco cloth is a light, airy, loosely woven cotton fabric similar to gauze or cheesecloth. It can be the perfect accent on a window, or can be draped from the ceilings, tables at weddings. It can come in various "weights" and can therefore be used for many different purposes. Historically, tobacco cloth was used to cover and protect tobacco plants. Additionally, early Americans used it in the home for practical purposes including bandages, tea bags & window decor. Recently, many brides have opted to use tobacco cloth instead of netting or tulle for their rustic wedding projects due to its soft draping ability. At Jubilee Fabric we have 2 different colors of tobacco cloth, unbleached natural and white which are available by the yard or in pre-cut 10 yd or 60 yd packs.
